Overview

Kevin provides clients in a wide range of technologies with strategic counsel in the areas of procurement and enforcement of their patent portfolios both in the United States and around the world.

Kevin’s extensive technical and legal experience uniquely qualify him to assist clients with U.S. and international patent development strategy and guide them through enforcement and defense proceedings.

Experience

Kevin has hands-on, technical and legal experience and knowledge in several technologies including telecommunication devices, wireless communication hardware, software and networking techniques, lighting fixtures and control circuitry, semiconductor device design and manufacturing, commercial electronics including digital televisions and display technology, printers, computers and computer networking techniques, GFCIs, and smoke detectors and lasers.

Kevin has also represented clients in patent infringement lawsuits including one involving all phases of the defense and enforcement of over twenty patents directed to semiconductor design and manufacturing techniques.

Prior to joining Michael Best, Kevin practiced for 17 years with three different intellectual property boutique law firms in Washington, D.C.

 

Before entering the legal profession, Kevin had a lengthy technical career at Northrop Grumman (formerly Westinghouse Electric Corp.), where he was a senior hardware design engineer. While at Northrop, Kevin designed and integrated various electronics hardware modules for commercial and military radar and communication systems.
