Overview

Luke counsels clients in a broad range of complex litigation matters and civil disputes, as well as litigation avoidance strategies.

Before joining Michael Best, he worked as a summer associate with the firm. During law school, Luke gained valuable trial experience under the North Carolina Student Practice Rule at the Wake County District Attorney’s Office, where he tried multiple bench trials to verdict. As a law clerk, he drafted legal memoranda for numerous U.S.C. § 1983 lawsuits, assisted in deposition preparations, met with experts, and conducted research for appellate briefs in the North Carolina Supreme Court. Additionally, Luke worked as a judicial intern for the Honorable David S. Cayer, of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of North Carolina, where he researched statutes and case law, drafted orders related to labor and civil rights lawsuits, and observed civil and criminal proceedings.
