Overview

Daniel advises clients on a variety of domestic and international tax matters. He represents public and private companies in many industries including technology, manufacturing, life sciences, energy, insurance, and more.

Daniel has experience counseling clients with regard to mergers and acquisitions, restructurings, joint ventures and leveraged buyouts, investment funds, private equity investments, securities offerings, representation and warranty insurance products, tax controversies, and state and local tax matters.

Before joining Michael Best, Daniel spent several years as a tax attorney in the New York office of a major multinational law firm. He previously practiced law with a full-service U.S.-based Am Law 100 firm.

While in law school, Daniel served as a legal extern at the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), where he assisted with case strategy and trial preparation. He also completed a clerkship with the Tax Foundation, the country’s leading independent tax policy nonprofit.

Before embarking on his legal career, Daniel earned his undergraduate degree in Accounting and spent time working as an accountant at a Big 4 accounting firm.
