Charles is a Legislative Assistant with Michael Best Strategies. He researches and develops reports and communications related to key legislative, political, and regulatory issues. Charles also assists with general administrative support and monitors relevant developments to ensure clients receive timely and accurate updates. Additionally, he conducts congressional meeting outreach and coordinates meetings between Strategies’ staff and clients with Congressional and Administrative offices.
Before joining the Strategies team, Charles spent several years as an Intellectual Property Administrator at Michael Best, where he worked closely with clients and attorneys to support patent prosecution and maintenance activities, conducted related research, and provided other analytical support.
Previously, Charles was the Deputy Director of Membership for the Association of the U.S. Army (AUSA). In this role, he researched policy issues and drafted communications in support of legislation relevant to the U.S. Army and military veterans. Charles also oversaw AUSA’s global recruitment and retention programs, which encompassed more than 63,000 individuals and nearly 4,000 businesses. Charles is a U.S. Army veteran who served on active duty for six years as a combat medic.
Earlier, Charles interned with a Washington D.C. public policy think tank and with the Wisconsin Veterans Museum. He also worked as a Congressional Intern for a member of the U.S. House of Representatives.
