Overview

With more than 20 years of legal experience, Arimi advises clients on a variety of U.S.-Japanese legal needs, including corporate, transactional, regulatory, trade, and cross-border investment matters. 

Arimi provides clients legal services for patent prosecution, enforcement, licensing, and defense, including post-grant proceedings. She also prepares invalidity and non-infringement opinions. Additionally, she excels in navigating clients through the unique IP protection processes in both the U.S. and Japan.

Arimi represents clients spanning a variety of industries, and has significant experience with a number of advanced technologies, including computer software, telecommunications, display, semiconductor, and organic chemistry.

Prior to joining Michael Best, Arimi was a founding partner of a Washington, D.C.-based IP firm that specialized in patent practice for Asian and U.S. clients. Earlier in her career, Arimi worked as an attorney for several U.S. IP boutiques, at a U.S. general practice firm, and at multiple Japanese law firms. After earning her law degree, Arimi also taught law courses as an adjunct professor at two Japanese universities.
