USTR announced today that they will be taking exclusion extension applications for products that were administered exclusions under List 3 from between the months of August 2019 and March 2020. The application window opened today, May 1, and will close on June 8, 2020 at 11:59 pm ET. All exclusions announced by USTR since August 2019 are set to expire on August 7, 2020. If granted, the extensions would last for 12 months.
USTR will evaluate exclusion extension applications on a case-by-case basis. The evaluations will consider many factors, but primarily whether the particular product remains available only from China.
Additionally, on Monday, April 27, USTR announced exclusion extension opportunities for products under List 1 and List 2. For products under List 1 excluded on July 9, 2019, USTR announced that filers have from May 1 to June 1 to submit exclusion extension applications. This same timeline goes for products under List 2 excluded on July 31, 2019.
