Michael Best & Friedrich LLP is pleased to announce that Partner Katie Fillmore has been selected as a 2026 Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD) Fellow, and Senior Associates Ena Allen and Emi Passini have been selected as 2026 LCLD Pathfinders. The Fellows Program seeks to identify, train, and advance the next generation of leaders in the legal profession, while the Pathfinders Program is designed for high-performing, early-career attorneys in career development, leadership growth, and building professional networks.
Fillmore has demonstrated strong leadership, a commitment to professional development, and meaningful engagement within Michael Best. She practices in commercial litigation where she advocates for clients in the courtroom as well as before legislative and regulatory bodies. Beyond her work at Michael Best, she is also a member of the Women in the Law Steering Committee within the Defense Research Institute and has been named a 2026 Best Lawyer® for Administrative and Regulatory Law.
Allen and Passini are emerging leaders in their legal practice. Allen has focused largely on the healthcare industry where she represents health insurers in litigation and has experience handling complex, high-value litigation from inception through resolution. Passini represents management in a wide variety of employment litigation matters and is also active in Michael Best’s Higher Education Industry group where she assists institutions in a variety of aspects from complying with FERPA to guiding institutions through financial exigencies.
