Michael&nbsp;Best is pleased to announce that Lance Mueller&nbsp;has joined the firm’s&nbsp;Milwaukee&nbsp;office as&nbsp;Senior Counsel&nbsp;in&nbsp;the&nbsp;Real&nbsp;Estate&nbsp;practice.&nbsp;Mueller brings more than two decades of experience advising clients on complex real estate transactions and development projects, with a particular focus on affordable housing, mixed‑use development, and commercial matters.&nbsp;

Mueller has extensive experience guiding projects through the full real estate lifecycle—from site&nbsp;selection&nbsp;and entitlement through financing, construction, and stabilized operations. He has led the negotiation and closing of&nbsp;numerous&nbsp;Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) transactions, including structuring debt and equity arrangements, coordinating due diligence, and managing internal teams and external counsel.&nbsp;

“Lance&nbsp;strengthens&nbsp;both&nbsp;our Milwaukee office and our real estate capabilities in a market where development and affordable housing work continue to be a priority,” said&nbsp;Alec Fraser,&nbsp;Office&nbsp;Managing Partner of Michael Best’s Milwaukee office. “His deep experience negotiating and drafting development agreements, construction contracts, purchase and sale agreements, and management agreements, as well as executing complex, multi-million-dollar transactions&nbsp;enhances the support we&nbsp;can&nbsp;provide to developers and investors across Wisconsin.”&nbsp;

Before joining Michael Best, Mueller served as general counsel for Volker, a nationally recognized, vertically integrated, affordable housing developer where he led all legal matters across multiple business units and affiliates and&nbsp;advised&nbsp;executive leadership on strategic initiatives. He also&nbsp;practiced as a trial lawyer and partner&nbsp;at a national law firm,&nbsp;representing&nbsp;clients in business and commercial matters and trying cases to verdict in both bench and jury trials. He earned his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Wisconsin Law School and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration, summa cum laude, from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee.&nbsp;
