Michael Best is pleased to announce that Lee Potts has joined the firm’s Austin office as a Partner in the Corporate practice. Potts brings more than two decades of experience advising clients on mergers and acquisitions as well as a broad range of corporate and securities matters, including private equity and fundraising transactions, debt financings, lending transactions, and complex commercial agreements.

Potts regularly counsels startups and closely held businesses and serves as outside general counsel, supporting clients through growth, transactions, and day-to-day business operations. His practice includes structuring and negotiating M&A transactions, advising on capital raises, supporting lending and financing arrangements, and drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.

Prior to joining Michael Best, Potts co-founded a boutique law firm and spent more than a decade at a national practice, where he advised clients on corporate, transactional, and securities matters. He earned his J.D. from The University of Texas School of Law and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration and Master’s in Professional Accounting from The University of Texas at Austin.
