Ginny specializes in providing comprehensive legal representation to churches, ministries, faith-based organizations, and other nonprofit entities. Drawing from her experience as a former nonprofit executive director, she deeply understands the daily demands and real-world issues facing her nonprofit clients.
With extensive background in nonprofit leadership, Ginny delivers both strategic legal counsel and practical operational advice, positioning herself as a trusted advisor to her clients. Her law practice encompasses all aspects of the nonprofit life cycle, particularly focusing on issues that emerge along the way such as employment challenges, religious freedom concerns, contract negotiations, donation issues, and crisis management.
Before joining Michael Best, Ginny served as an attorney at a Minnesota-based law firm where she provided guidance on corporate governance, state and federal tax exemption, employment law, intellectual property, and religious liberty matters including church autonomy and ministerial exception. She also led the firm’s Employment Law practice group, where she managed numerous complex investigations into misconduct, fiduciary violations, and organizational issues. Additionally, she guided organizations through crises involving abuse, financial fraud, and media attention; handled critical negotiations like denominational divisions and ministry consolidations; and created various faith-based protocols and agreements.
Ginny maintains an active presence in the nonprofit legal community as a frequent guest speaker and lecturer for local and national nonprofits and ministries across the United States.
