Overview

Jonathan is an Associate in the litigation practice. He has experience in both trial and district courts.

Before joining Michael Best, Jonathan was an Associate with a personal injury law firm based in Austin. He represented clients on a variety of litigation matters in both state and federal court. His practice focused heavily on workplace personal injury, ERISA benefits disputes, general commercial liability, and general commercial disputes. He also has extensive experience assisting businesses in arbitration from inception of suit to final evidentiary hearing.

Prior to that, Jonathan was an Assistant Attorney General at the Office of the Attorney General of Texas. In this role, he defended state agencies and employees in cases involving civil right actions and personal injury defense. Jonathan successfully represented clients at mediation, hearings, and federal jury trials and has represented clients before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and Texas state court of appeals. 

As a law student, Jonathan participated in South Texas College of Law's world-renowned varsity advocacy program, where he was recognized as a national champion oral advocate and award-winning legal brief writer.
