Andrew R. Jones

Andy is a trusted advisor to businesses, owners, executives, boards, institutions, family offices, and high-net-worth individuals on the legal and business issues that shape enterprise value. Clients turn to Andy for practical, business-minded counsel across the full life cycle of an organization—formation, governance, contracts, financings, mergers and acquisitions, succession planning, ownership transitions, crisis response, dispute resolution, and strategic growth.

Andy serves as outside counsel to closely held and publicly traded companies, helping leaders make sound decisions, manage risk, and move opportunities forward, particularly those sensitive matters requiring judgment, discretion, and steady leadership. He works with clients across diverse industries, including manufacturing, distribution, logistics, construction, technology, professional services, financial services, higher education, nonprofits, agribusiness, and consumer services.

In addition to his client work, Andy is Michael Best’s National Strategic Growth Partner and Managing Partner for North Carolina. In those roles, he helps lead the firm’s growth in high-opportunity markets, supports the integration of talented attorneys and groups, and helps expand the firm’s ability to serve clients nationwide. Before joining Michael Best, Andy served as president of a regional North Carolina law firm that combined with Michael Best in 2021—experience that gives him firsthand insight into business combinations, leadership transitions, operations, and organizational growth.

Andy is also actively engaged in community service and civic affairs. He is an appointed member of the New Hanover County Airport Authority, which governs Wilmington International Airport, and has held leadership roles with civic, educational, legal, and nonprofit organizations throughout North Carolina. Through board service, volunteer activities, and initiatives, Andy is committed to promoting economic growth and expansion of opportunities for businesses, families, and individuals.
