As a Patent Paralegal, Monica assists with all aspects of patent prosecution, filing, and maintenance. She works closely with Michael Best’s attorneys to ensure all deadlines are met, and communicates regularly with clients throughout the process.
Prior to her current role, Monica worked as a legal assistant at the firm. She gained valuable experience drafting and revising case filings, communicating with clients and outside counsel, assisting with document production, and reviewing and sending documents on behalf of banking clients. Before joining Michael Best, Monica was a paralegal at a large North American bank, where she reviewed all subpoenas served on the bank and familiarized herself with state and federal, as well as Canadian and Québécois banking and financial law. She developed her attention to detail as a political journalist and editor for an online news website in Chicago.
