Sophie E. Siebert*

Sophie brings a business-minded perspective to her work in tax, drawing on experience across legal, financial services, and risk and compliance matters. Her background includes supporting clients with transactional, regulatory, and operational issues, as well as conducting research and analysis across a range of complex legal topics. 

Before joining Michael Best, Sophia spent her 1L summer at a Madison-based law firm, where she gained experience with real estate and other business-related matters, including assisting with a mergers and acquisitions project. She also previously worked as a risk and compliance consultant, advising financial services clients on anti-money laundering matters, policy implementation, operational risk, and issue management in connection with significant business and regulatory matters. 

Her earlier experience in banking and financial services provides additional insight into the financial and operational considerations that can shape client decisions.
