Reese is a member of Michael Best’s Venture Best practice group, where he focuses on corporate and transactional matters, catering to start-up, early-stage, and established companies.

Prior to joining the firm, Reese worked as an associate in the Finance Group at a global law firm in Houston, Texas. He reviewed, analyzed, and drafted documents for various types of debt financings across multiple industries, including oil and gas, renewable energy, construction, and real estate. Reese played a key role in closing financings with commitments totaling over $2 billion. In addition, he drafted documents and obtained orders of nondisclosure for clients referred by Houston’s Fresh Start Program, sealing decades-old non-violent convictions.

While pursuing his J.D., Reese gained valuable experience as a summer associate at the same global law firm, executing projects for supervising partners and associates, and completing rotations in Corporate and Securities, Finance, Litigation, and Energy Project practice groups. Additionally, Reese gained experience as a law intern at a Texas-based law firm where he analyzed complex legal issues in the oil and gas sector.
