Peter is an experienced litigation attorney whose practice focuses on complex civil disputes across state and federal courts. He has represented businesses, municipalities, and individual clients in construction, product liability, aviation, and other defense matters in jurisdictions nationwide. His experience includes serving as first and second chair in multiple North Carolina Superior Court trials, drafting and arguing substantive motions and briefs, and advocating for clients through mediation and trial. Peter also maintains an active appellate practice, representing municipalities and businesses before the Fourth Circuit and the North Carolina Court of Appeals.

Earlier in his career, Peter gained valuable judicial and public defense experience through internships with the U.S. District Court for the Western District of North Carolina and the Scotland County Capital Defender’s Office, where he researched complex legal issues, drafted judicial orders and motions, and assisted in defending indigent clients in serious criminal matters.

Prior to entering the legal profession, Peter served in the United States Marine Corps as an infantryman with the 2nd Division, 3rd Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment. He deployed twice to Afghanistan and held leadership roles as a machine gun squad leader and rifle instructor, responsible for leading armed patrols and training Marines in high pressure operational environments. Peter’s service was recognized with multiple military decorations, including the Combat Action Ribbon, the Afghanistan Campaign Medal with two campaign stars, the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, and two Sea Service Deployment Ribbons.
