What powers my practice

My path to law began with a fascination for language—not just as communication, but as a system that shapes behavior. While working at a language translation firm, I saw how contractual language actively shapes the world, a realization that inspired me to pursue a legal career. Today, I find fulfillment in advocating for others by transforming complex ideas into language that drives real-world outcomes, guided by the skills of listening, patience, and cross-cultural communication that I first developed living abroad in Korea.

Overview

Paul is an attorney in the Corporate and Capital Markets Groups at Michael Best, where he assists clients with a broad range of corporate and securities matters, including entity formation, capital raising, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance.

Before joining the firm, Paul worked in the Civil Division of the Utah County Attorney’s Office, where he prepared legal memoranda, drafted policies for county departments, and presented recommendations to governing bodies. Previously, Paul served as an account executive with an international language services firm, where he reviewed and responded to government RFPs, secured contracts, partnered with state agencies to support refugee families, and led account‑management initiatives that supported company growth during the COVID‑19 pandemic.

Paul’s community involvement includes advocacy for improved language accessibility at the state level, supporting pro bono initiatives for emerging startups, and two years in South Korea teaching free English classes and supporting local community‑relief programs.
