Overview

Michael's experience spans technology commercialization, intellectual property management, and biomedical research. He works with innovative technologies across the life sciences sector, drawing on a background that includes neuroscience, gene and cell therapies, software technologies, and artificial intelligence.

Before joining the firm, Michael served as a Commercialization Fellow with the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Office of Technology Commercialization, where he managed intellectual property portfolios, evaluated emerging technologies, and collaborated with inventors and patent counsel on patenting, licensing, and commercialization strategies. His experience also includes assessing invention disclosures, conducting prior art and market analyses, and supporting the development and transfer of emerging technologies.

Michael first worked with the firm through its EDGE internship program, where he gained experience supporting a variety of intellectual property matters and working alongside attorneys serving innovative companies and research institutions.
