What powers my practice

My father’s career as a lawyer and judge inspired my path, but with a background in the arts, I was drawn to the creative ways law can make a difference. I was especially moved by stories of attorneys helping Holocaust survivors reclaim stolen artwork—proof of how powerful a law degree can be. I find fulfillment in helping clients make sense of the law and feel supported through the process, whether that’s simplifying complex issues or crafting creative employee handbooks that reflect their unique culture. My goal is to give clients clarity and confidence, turning what can feel overwhelming into something manageable and meaningful.

Overview

Jennifer has more than 25 years of experience representing a wide range of business and individual clients in employment law, intellectual property, and in the entertainment industry. Her practice spans industries including software, internet, technology, cannabis, food, retail, and beauty, and she also represents media personalities, photographers, musicians, authors, publishers, influencers, artists, and galleries.

Jennifer’s combined experience in both litigation and transactional matters allows her to approach issues with practical and careful consideration from all angles, coupled with creative problem-solving. A dedicated team player, she keeps clients informed throughout the process and collaborates closely to ensure legal strategies account for business realities. Known for her approachable style and sense of humor, Jennifer has built strong, long-term relationships with her clients and peers.

Labor and Employment Law

Jennifer routinely represents both employees and employers in mediation, arbitration, litigation and administrative hearings in front of the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and the Colorado Civil Rights Division (CCRD) in areas ranging from harassment, retaliation and discrimination claims, non-competition disputes, trade secret misappropriation disputes, and wage and hour disputes. Jennifer also assists employers in developing workplace policies and procedures, employee handbooks, drafting and negotiating restrictive covenants, separation agreements, and independent contractor agreements.

Intellectual Property

Jennifer advises clients on a wide variety of intellectual property and commercial transactional matters including trademark clearance, trademark enforcement, portfolio management and analysis, brand protection, copyrights, technology and licensing agreements,. She also represents IP owners in disputes in state and federal courts, as well as in administrative proceedings before the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office and the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.

Entertainment Law

In her entertainment practice, Jennifer works with creative individuals and businesses in preparing and negotiating a wide range of agreements, including production agreements, publishing agreements, recording and distribution agreements, collaboration agreements, talent agreements, authorship agreements, commission agreements, and work-for-hire agreements.
