What powers my practice
Before law school, I worked on an in-house legal team where I regularly interacted with outside counsel, which sparked my interest in the dynamic nature of law firms and their work across industries. In litigation, I take pride not only in achieving successful outcomes but also in supporting clients through stressful moments. Volunteering in community legal clinics reinforced how much clients value someone who takes the time to work through their concerns—an approach I bring to every client relationship at Michael Best.
Overview
Emily is an Associate in Michael Best’s Litigation practice with a focus on bankruptcy, insolvency, and creditors’ rights matters. She represents banks, corporations, and other creditors in bankruptcy proceedings, commercial foreclosures, workouts, and related litigation, as well as debtors in Chapter 11 proceedings. In addition to her bankruptcy practice, Emily also handles general civil litigation matters.
While pursuing her J.D., Emily served as Symposium Editor of the Denver Law Review, where she organized the annual symposium entitled “Debt and Financial Insecurity in the Modern Economy.” She also participated in the Community Economic Development Clinic, providing transactional legal services to small businesses and organizations. Prior to attending law school, she worked on an in-house legal team at an asset manager.
Emily is a member of the Native American Bar Association and the Colorado Bar Association. In her free time, Emily performs improv comedy.
