Chelsea counsels clients on data privacy and security matters including building compliance frameworks under applicable state, federal, and international privacy laws. Chelsea also advises on data security best practices and responding to data breaches.

Before joining Michael Best, Chelsea was an Assistant Attorney General Fellow in the Colorado Attorney General's Office. There, she enforced Colorado’s data security laws, supported the Colorado Privacy Act rulemaking, and drafted privacy-related documents including data sharing agreements and online privacy policies for State entities.

While pursuing her law degree, Chelsea gained experience through two internships with the Colorado Attorney General’s Office, serving as a Legal Intern in the Consumer Protection Section and in the State Services Section. She also interned for the Honorable Judge Elizabeth Weishaupl in Colorado’s 18th Judicial District and worked as a Student Attorney in Sturm College of Law’s Environmental Law Clinic.

After earning her bachelor’s degree, Chelsea spent nearly three years in the Peace Corps. She was stationed in Lesotho, Africa, where she led and supported educational, health, youth, and women’s programs.
