Ari M. Gamss

Ari joined Michael Best with the New York team of Kane Kessler, P.C., and practices as a partner in the Real Estate practice group. He previously Co-chaired the Real Estate and General Business practice groups during his time at Kane Kessler, P.C.

In his real estate work he has extensive experience acting for purchasers and sellers of commercial, industrial and residential property, and in drafting and negotiating commercial leases covering retail, office, warehouse, restaurant, shopping center and industrial uses. He also represents banks in both residential and commercial real estate transactions. 

On the general business side, Ari has considerable experience drafting and negotiating commercial agreements and financing agreements, as well as operating agreements, shareholder agreements and other governance documents.

Ari has represented clients in the following matters: 

• Represented a client in connection with a HUD-insured FHA nursing home loan in excess of $11,000,000. 
• Represented a client in connection with the issuance of $5,000,000 of Industrial Development Agency Bonds by the New York City Industrial Development Agency. 
• Represents a high-end restaurant chain in lease negotiations and general business matters. 
• Represents a high-end crystal and jewelry company in lease negotiations and general business matters. 
• Represents New York City residential cooperative buildings and their boards in refinancing underlying mortgages. 
• Represents public and private companies on the real estate aspects of corporate merger and acquisition transactions.
