Michael Best is seeking a Pricing &amp; Legal Project Management Specialist for our Chicago, Denver, Los Angeles, Milwaukee, Waukesha, or Washington, DC office.

The Pricing &amp; Legal Project Management Specialist will partner with attorneys and firm professional staff to support pricing and project management initiatives through data-driven analysis. Leveraging firm data and key performance indicators (KPIs), the Specialist will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to support day-to-day pricing activities that enhance margin and client value.

This position requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to apply logical thinking and analytical skills to complex pricing scenarios. The ideal candidate will possess strong Excel skills, be self-motivated and independent, and have an interest in staying up-to-date on industry trends and practices.

Support pricing efforts for attorneys and clients, including analyzing financial data and developing Excel-based financial tools and reports

Create, maintain, and enhance Excel templates and reports for financial analysis, client activity tracking, budget management, resource allocation, and financial reporting

Analyze data from financial systems using Excel and industry best practices to support fee calculations, pricing analysis, and reporting

Use legal project management methodologies and tools to support matter tracking and client-facing dashboards

Monitor matter progress against budgets and communicate status updates to firm attorneys and clients

Utilize project management tools and automated workflows to support and streamline matter pricing and tracking processes

Assist in estimating resources required to meet matter objectives and provide analytical input into budget and work plan development

Prepare and disseminate data, reports, and updates to attorneys and clients throughout the matter lifecycle

Develop and maintain an understanding of law firm profitability metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) and how they interrelate

Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to attorney teams to support improvements in client and matter profitability

Identify opportunities and provide recommendations to the Client Value team to enhance pricing processes and tools

Knowledge &amp; Education

Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, data analytics, accounting, or other comparable business disciplines. &nbsp;

2–4 years of experience in a pricing, FP&amp;A, or data/financial analyst role (law firm/professional services experience strongly preferred).

Must be able to work with large data sets and possess advanced proficiency in Excel (i.e., formulas, macros, pivots, data manipulation) with a good degree of financial acumen.

Compensation for this position will range from $65,000 - $90,000, depending on experience and location.
