Michael Best &amp; Friedrich LLP is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Litigation Partner or Senior Counsel to help grow our expanding North Carolina offices. The candidate must be a senior level attorney with a minimum of ten (10) years of significant civil and/or commercial litigation experience.

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter capable of managing an active litigation case load and experienced in drafting and preparing pleadings, briefs, motions, and other litigation documents; managing discovery, including taking/presenting witnesses for deposition, oral argument, and trial preparation; conducting legal research, analysis and writing; and will possess excellent oral advocacy, communication, and writing skills. Candidate must have a reasonable book of portable litigation business. Candidate is also expected to help grow our litigation presence in North Carolina and be an active networker in the community and various organizations.

Knowledge &amp; Education

At least 10 years’ litigation experience

Excellent legal research and analysis skills

Current member of the North Carolina bar with litigation experience in North Carolina federal and state courts

Ability to work well independently as well as effectively within a team

Agility to respond to unexpected challenges, including proactively developing innovative solutions to complex problems while maintaining a professional demeanor
