Michael Best Welcomes Matthew Sullivan to Real Estate Practice 

Am Law 200 firm Michael Best is pleased to announce that Matthew Sullivan has joined the firm as a Partner in its Real Estate Practice Group, based in the firm’s Denver office. Sullivan brings a nationally recognized real estate practice that further strengthens Michael Best’s capabilities in advising clients on complex commercial real estate matters across the country. 

Sullivan counsels clients on all aspects of real estate development, leasing, acquisitions, dispositions, and portfolio strategy. His practice has a particular focus on retail, mixed-use, and commercial properties within the restaurant and hospitality industry, drawing on extensive experience with fast-casual and national restaurant concepts, retail centers, and commercial developments nationwide. He regularly advises clients on retail and commercial leasing, development projects, portfolio management, and day-to-day operational real estate matters.

Prior to joining Michael Best, Sullivan practiced at a national law firm and previously served as Corporate Counsel for Real Estate and Asset Management at Red Robin International, Inc. He earned his J.D. from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, an MBA in Finance (cum laude) from the University of Colorado Denver, and a B.A. in Finance from Gonzaga University. 

Sullivan is an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), a premier global trade association dedicated to advancing marketplaces and commercial spaces, of which Michael Best has long been a member. He has previously been named a Super Lawyers Rising Star from 2018-2021 and in 2023. Sullivan is also recognized as a 2026 Super Lawyer, a 2026 Best Lawyer, and a 2026 5280 Top Lawyer – Denver.
