Aaron Barker is a Partner and Head of Venture Best, Texas. He advises emerging growth companies and their investors on a wide range of corporate and transactional matters, including equity and debt financing, private equity and venture capital investments, mergers and acquisitions, and general corporate governance. Barker’s clients span the technology, life sciences, and consumer brand sectors, and he is known for guiding companies from incorporation through exit.

Katie Fillmore is a Partner in the Litigation group with deep experience in trial and appellate advocacy, complex commercial litigation, and government relations. She has represented clients across industries such as healthcare, construction, and pharmaceuticals, and has testified before legislative committees and helped shape policy at both the state and federal levels. Fillmore is also a strong advocate for diversity in the legal profession and recently participated in the State Bar of Texas’ Minority Counsel Program.

Eric Johnston is a Partner in the firm’s Litigation practice. He has successfully defended clients in high-stakes commercial disputes, including securing the dismissal of a major video game developer from a federal lawsuit and obtaining full reimbursement of legal fees through indemnification.
