EatStreet Proves it Can and Does Happen Here

“I’ve lost count of the number of midnight calls I’ve had with Melissa to work through not only legal but business aspects of transactions, big and small” says EatStreet Co-Founder (and Forbes Magazine “30 under 30” selection) Matt Howard. “Her commitment  to EatStreet, for the long haul, is the same kind of commitment I expect from my most important team members. Melissa is a lot more than our lawyer, and I know she thinks of us as more than just a client.”

“Since 2012, our Venture Best team has worked closely with Matt and his team on five financings totaling more than $40 million,” Turczyn said. “There have also been acquisitions and the usual ups and downs of growing a high impact startup business in an emerging and evolving competitive landscape. Frankly, it’s the stuff that makes the Venture Best practice so challenging, and so much fun.”

Venture Best Of Counsel Paul Jones, an experienced venture capital and angel investor himself, was a small part of the first of those financing rounds, as part of EatStreet investor Angels on the Water. “Matt was one of those entrepreneurs that even way back in the earliest days, presented as someone you just wanted to get behind. And so AOW did – as had Venture Best,” Jones said.

“Melissa and the Venture Best team know the challenges of building a high impact startup, both the highs and the lows. I can’t imagine working with a legal team Melissa wasn’t leading, and I know that with the Venture Best team, her team is EatStreet’s team, too” concludes Howard.
