Overview

Yuri is an experienced attorney, focusing on the preparation and prosecution of patent applications for inventions in the electrical, optical, chemical, and mechanical arts. His diverse technical experience spans optics, acoustics, electrical engineering, IC fabrication, signal processing, networking, communication protocols, MEMS technologies, spectroscopy, medical devices and instruments, and more.

Prior to joining Michael Best, Yuri spent many years practicing with a boutique IP firm. Previously, Yuri was a senior scientist at the Institute for Shock Physics of Washington State University, where he carried out interdisciplinary (physics, chemistry, engineering) research with support from the U.S. Departments of Energy and Defense. He was also a research fellow at the Institute for Molecular Science in Japan and while completing his Ph.D., he was a staff scientist for the Institute of Catalysis where he focused on semiconductor-based H2-production processes.
