Whitney provides clients with strategic counsel and advice on federal and state securities law regulations and compliance.
She works closely with companies to help them navigate regulatory agency investigations, including those by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and state regulatory agencies around the country.
Whitney is experienced in handling correspondence with SEC enforcement staff, client preparation and representation in SEC depositions, drafting Wells Submissions and settlement agreements, and assisting with subpoena responses and document production. She assists businesses of all sizes in complying with blue sky laws, registration requirements, and fundraising regulations, and serves as a liaison to regulatory agencies to streamline and expedite federal and state inquiries.
She also advises early and growth-stage companies on corporate formation and governance matters, private placements, and initial public offerings (IPOs).
Before joining Michael Best, Whitney practiced in the Securities division of a California-based transactional law firm. She previously was an associate in the transactional practice of a full-service law firm.
Whitney is also a registered nurse who focused in pediatric intensive and immune-compromised special care before turning to her career in securities law.
