With firsthand experience gained at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and a background in a variety of energy law matters, Uju provides clients with valuable, informed expertise and counsel. She focuses her practice in the areas of energy policy and regulatory compliance.

Prior to joining Michael Best, Uju worked as an attorney-advisor in the Office of the General Counsel at FERC. There, she researched and drafted Commission orders (focusing on matters within the PJM Interconnection, LLC region) and collaborated with interoffice teams to prepare recommendations to the Commission regarding policy issues. Uju also served as a Judicial Law Clerk in the Commission’s Office of Administrative Law Judges and Dispute Resolution, where she managed judicial proceedings for more than 20 concurrent cases and researched and drafted administrative orders.

Uju previously was an energy law clerk in the Washington, D.C. office of an international law firm, where she amassed experience in drafting legal memoranda analyzing the Federal Power Act, Regional Transmission Organization (RTO) Open Access Transmission Tariffs, FERC orders and regulations, and federal case law.
