Teri began her association with Michael Best as an extern. Prior to joining the firm, she was a legal secretary in a Chicago-based firm, where she analyzed and drafted responses to examiner’s rejections in final and non-final United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) actions and conformed non-domestic applications to USPTO rules and regulations. She also worked as a paralegal for prominent Israeli IP firms, where she helped to prepare responses to actions and letters issued by the Israel Patent office.

Experience

Moving patent applications forward

Forming patentability arguments and drafting responses to USPTO and international patent office actions on behalf of a client involved in chemical looping. While the 335-matter portfolio was drafted by another firm Michael Best is prosecuting the patent applications. The team faced numerous rejections from examiners around the world based on a patent obtained by the previous firm. Michael Best has succeeded in obtaining several allowances on previously stalled patent applications.
