Overview

Sarah is a strategic advisor and partner to her clients. She is a healthcare and health technology attorney passionate about helping her clients grow and thrive in the competitive healthcare space. Leveraging this background, Sarah is a strategic and solution-oriented consultant who adeptly balances clients’ business goals with regulatory requirements.

Sarah is a nationally recognized expert in health IT solutions, having been appointed a Health IT Fellow by the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT under the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). Through roles in private practice, as in-house counsel for health companies, and industry experience, Sarah brings comprehensive knowledge and a deep understanding of clients’ challenges to her practice.

Before joining Michael Best, Sarah was a shareholder, and the Healthcare and Life Sciences Industry Group chair, of an AmLaw 200 law firm, in the firm’s Austin office. She was previously an executive with a major global medical diagnostics company, most recently as the company’s Senior Vice President of Strategic Business Development. In earlier roles, Sarah served as General Counsel to a Texas healthcare provider organization, served as COO of a health IT services company, and served as COO of a healthtech startup.

Experience

Sarah represents healthcare and health technology entities in a variety of transactions including mergers and acquisitions, next generation payer contracting, joint ventures, SAAS and KAAS contracting models for health tech companies, telemedicine and care coordination services, biotechnology, medical device transactions, and cybersecurity matters.
