OverviewSamuel assists companies with corporate and transactional matters, focusing on the blockchain and web3 sectors, and the start-up and new venture capital sectors. He has extensive knowledge in blockchain innovation, business organization, and start-up planning.
Samuel is an entrepreneur and co-founder of Blockchain Community PAC, a community-driven political action committee that promotes responsible web3.0 policy where members have access to a myriad of benefits. Samuel understands the challenges that entrepreneurs face, and helps them navigate these issues, particularly early-stage financing. He leverages a deep understanding of market analysis and business planning strategies to help his clients achieve their business goals. ExperiencePrior to joining Michael Best, Samuel practiced at a business and real estate law firm where he assisted with NFT project support, DAO framework and compliance, corporate formations and restructuring, and Simple Agreement for Future Tokens (SAFT) contracts. He also led and rapidly grew the firm’s web3.0 practice group and represented two companies during multi-million dollar seed funding and a SAFE and token warrant raise. Samuel serves on the advisory board for the Utah Blockchain Coalition as a subject matter expert on blockchain policy and provides consulting services on web3 initiatives.
Earlier, Samuel gained valuable experience as a New Venture Development Associate with the Lassonde Entrepreneur Institute, as a Law Clerk with a boutique law firm, and as a Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering (BSA/AML) Compliance Analyst with Varo Bank. In these roles, he developed and presented recommendations on strategic opportunities for entering the blockchain and cryptocurrency market, analyzed blockchain-based decentralized finance protocols, and drafted best practices for monitoring cryptocurrency transactions Honors & Recognitions
