Polly is a seasoned government relations professional with decades of legislative experience. With a background in public policy and lobbying operations, Polly leverages her considerable expertise as a commercial advocate to assess potential business impact and recommend strategic solutions that optimize company interests. Polly understands lawmaking trends and uses her knowledge to collaborate with executive teams to identify organizational goals, and consistently builds productive relationships with government leaders to pass relevant legislation.
Before joining Michael Best Strategies, Polly served as senior policy director for a global law firm. In this role, she directed public policy and lobbying operations by assisting clients on both state and local government issues. She also participated in a Diversity, Equity & Inclusion initiative to develop mentorship opportunities for employees who may not view government relations as a viable opportunity for career advancement. During her tenure, she also assisted with the acquisition of numerous contracts with nonprofit organizations, state counties, judicial associations, and much more.
Previously, Polly was elected as State Representative in the Colorado House District 39. She ran to support business owners, law enforcement, public safety, and government accountability initiatives and was elected to represent two Colorado counties in 2012, 2014, and 2016. Polly served as House Republican Whip and provided leadership in a wide range of areas, from orchestrating floor debates to spearheading business and industry leader outreach efforts. Polly was also a prime sponsor for updating the Victim’s Rights Act, she led efforts to rewrite urban renewal legislation, and raised funds for scientific and cultural facilities.
