Overview

Nick has extensive experience in corporate and transactional matters, specializing in counseling buyers and sellers in a variety of mergers and acquisitions. He adeptly helps clients navigate complex joint venture and other strategic transactions and advises businesses on corporate governance and other general legal issues. Nick also supports the firm’s Venture Best team in advising investors, growth-stage companies, and entrepreneurs with their various legal needs.

Nick’s M&A experience includes advising companies and sponsors across diverse industries in both buy-side and sell-side transactions of all sizes, ranging from multibillion-dollar buyouts and public company mergers to small-cap private equity add-on and other strategic acquisitions. Nick is well versed in negotiating earnouts, milestone payments, equity rollovers, and joint venture protections.

Prior to joining Michael Best, Nick served as a managing associate at a global AmLaw 20 firm. In this role, his practice focused primarily on mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, capital markets and other federal securities laws matters.

Nick received his J.D. from the University of Wisconsin Law School, where he graduated magna cum laude and was elected to the Order of the Coif. While pursuing his J.D., Nick worked as a student attorney at the University of Wisconsin Law School’s Law & Entrepreneurship Clinic, where he provided transactional-focused legal services for early-stage entrepreneurs and start-up companies.
