Overview

Louise focuses her practice on trademark, trade dress and copyright law. She handles all aspects of trademark selection and protection, including domestic and international trademark clearance, prosecution, maintenance, licensing, due diligence and enforcement, including opposition and cancellation proceedings before the U.S. Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. Louise also handles all aspects of trade dress and copyright prosecution, due diligence, and enforcement.

Louise also works in the area of copyright law and is experienced with internet issues, including domain-name disputes and arbitration proceedings under the Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy (UDRP).

Louise has experience in the healthcare and research field, having worked in the Intellectual Property Department at Abbott, a global healthcare and research company, before entering law school.

 

Louise serves as President of The Auxiliary Board of Northwestern Memorial Hospital and regularly volunteers at Northwestern Memorial Hospital’s Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Prior to joining Michael Best, she worked at a Chicago firm specializing in intellectual property, marketing, and information technology.
