Lewis is a Legislative Assistant with Michael Best Strategies. He conducts research, assists with communications related to key legislative, political, and regulatory issues, and supports daily operations to serve Michael Best Strategies’ clients.
Prior to joining Strategies, Lewis gained wide-ranging experience through a number of internships in the private sector, for an administration, and on the hill. While pursuing his master’s degree he served as an Intern for United States Representative Sanford D. Bishop, Jr. (D-GA). Lewis drafted legislative background, co-sponsor, and vote recommendation memos, prepared press releases, and assisted with administrative matters. As a Public Affairs Intern with the National Restaurant Association, Lewis analyzed relevant federal, state. and local legislation, drafted communications, as well as assisting with key events.
Lewis also gained experience as an Intern for the U.S. Department of the Treasury and as a Student Associate at the Sine Institute of Policy & Politics working for the 4th President of Croatia Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović. Lewis’ professional and academic background have given him valuable experiences that taught him how to engage with stakeholders across sectors and how the policy process is conducted.
