Katelin serves as a trusted advisor and advocate for clients throughout the private and public sectors and has significant experience working with educational institutions.
As part of her practice, Katelin counsels employers in all aspects of labor and employment law, including hiring, discipline, termination, employee benefits, and federal and state employment discrimination matters under the Americans with Disabilities Act, Family and Medical Leave Act, Illinois Human Rights Act, and Title VII. Katelin’s practice also focuses on traditional labor relations, where she advises and represents clients in unfair labor practice proceedings, at arbitration, and in matters related to collective bargaining.
Katelin also has been recognized for her appellate advocacy and has successfully argued for a new constructive filing rule in the Ninth Circuit.
Prior to joining Michael Best, Katelin was a Labor & Employment Associate at a Chicago-based law firm. Earlier in her career, she represented self-insured multi-employer ERISA plans.
