Kate assists clients with corporate, transactional, and general business issues. She works with companies in a wide variety of industries, with a particular focus in the agribusiness sector.
Kate began her career with Michael Best as a Summer Associate and joined the firm as an attorney after earning her law degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School. While pursuing her J.D., Kate was a Student Associate with the University’s Law & Entrepreneurship Clinic. She advised start-up companies on entity formation, contracts, regulatory compliance, tax considerations, and more.
She previously spent several years working for Dow AgroSciences, an agricultural seed and chemical producer and seller. While at Dow, Kate managed a commercial sales territory for the seed brand Mycogen Seeds and provided technical and business support to farmers, cooperatives, and national retail outlets in southeastern Wisconsin. Earlier, Kate interned with farm equipment manufacturer Case IH in their corporate marketing division. Her industry experience gives her valuable insight into the business and legal challenges her clients face and the practical solutions they need.
