Overview

Justin is a trusted advisor for clients with significant risk and regulatory exposure by leveraging his broad litigation experience to counsel and advocate for clients facing complex legal challenges, including government investigations and regulatory actions as well as state and federal civil litigation.

Justin has substantial experience handling in government investigations into alleged fraud, waste, and abuse against participants in government programs, including civil investigative demands, recoupment actions, and administrative discipline, as well as appearing before Congress and federal and state agencies. He also has experience handling investigations into and legal actions against employees for fraud and other misconduct.

Justin also has years of experience navigating state and federal litigation arising from his clients' business operations, including contract disputes, product liability, non-competition and non-solicitation agreements, tortious interference, unfair and deceptive trade practices, defamation, and data privacy claims.

Finally, Justin also has extensive experience advocating for educational and religious institutions in matters arising from alleged sexual misconduct of members, staff, and volunteers. He also represents and advises his clients on mandatory reporting duties.

Prior to joining Michael Best, Justin represented state and municipal agencies and officers, civil rights, negligence, and in inverse condemnation matters. Substantively, Justin has represented clients in matters encompassing alleged police misconduct, deprivation of parental rights by social workers, and governmental, public officer, and qualified immunity matters.
