Joyce represents individuals and businesses of all sizes in complex business litigation matters primarily in the construction, real estate, cannabis, and insurance industries. Her experience covers a broad range of matters encompassing contract, employment, and tort disputes from pre-litigation advocacy through final disposition.
Joyce has served as lead attorney in several litigations, including contested forcible eviction and detainer possession and damages hearings, and she has second chair trial experience in breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, and negligence actions. She has considerable experience in all stages of litigation including drafting pleadings, dispositive and non-dispositive motions, conducting all aspects of discovery, taking and defending fact and expert depositions, and negotiating settlements.
She has also acted as a National Coordinating Counsel liaison for a prominent product manufacturer, ensuring compliance with the client's national litigation strategy by identifying risks and assisting with discovery, dispositive motion practice, and trial workup for high-indemnity jurisdictions throughout the country.
Before joining Michael Best, Joyce was an associate in the trial section of a full-service Denver law firm where she represented individuals, small businesses, and corporate clients primarily in the construction and real estate industries. She previously worked in the Chicago office of a national civil litigation law firm, where she was also a summer associate while in law school.
While pursuing her J.D. at the University of Wisconsin, Joyce served as Senior Managing Editor of the Wisconsin Law Review and was a board member and competitor on the Moot Court Board and Mock Trial Team.
