Overview

Gayle’s practice focuses on the protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights, specifically in the area of patents, with a concentration on manufacturers. Through the application of strategic planning to intellectual property protection and strong management of patent portfolios, she helps manufacturers achieve their business goals.

Clients rely on Gayle for intellectual property portfolio management and innovation strategies, along with counseling on infringement and validity issues. She also assists in the design of products that maximize intellectual property value and avoid infringement of the intellectual property rights of others.

 

Her practice includes:

  • Maintaining and managing intellectual property assets and portfolios for clients in the U.S. and worldwide
  • Counseling clients on the enforcement of their rights and the avoidance of their competitor’s rights
  • Preparing non-infringement and invalidity opinion letters in regard to competitor’s patents
  • Counseling clients on designing around competitor’s patents, as well as utility and design patent prosecution
  • Protecting and enforcing patent rights

Experience

Gayle’s experience extends to a variety of technical fields, including power and hand tools, lawn and garden equipment, mining equipment, manufacturing and processing equipment, computer hardware, consumer products, and medical devices. Before joining the firm, she worked as a project engineer for The Trane Company, where she developed control systems for computer-aided heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems.
