Overview

Gary helps clients navigate energy and environmental regulatory matters. He began his career with Michael Best first as a summer associate and then as a law clerk, and joined the firm as an associate after earning his law degree from the George Mason University Antonin Scalia Law School.

While pursuing his J.D., Gary was a legal intern at American Fuel and Petrochemical Manufacturers. In that position, he researched environmental and industrial regulatory issues, drafted analytical memoranda for case preparation, and supported ongoing litigation.

Prior to law school, Gary gained valuable experience at public affairs consultancy APCO Worldwide, where he advised trade associations and corporations on energy policy and advocacy, public relations and coalition building, and crisis communication strategies. Earlier, Gary served as a member of a national political campaign, during which time he engaged stakeholders and community leaders to build consensus around policy issues. Because of his background, Gary understands policy and public opinion, and he helps clients to make proactive decisions and navigate challenging situations.

As a law student, Gary served as Executive Editor of the George Mason Law Review, President of George Mason University’s Society for Environmental and Energy Law, and was a member of the Scalia Law Moot Court Board.
