Daniel focuses on business and tax law issues, and his diverse practice addresses state and federal income tax, international tax, mergers and acquisitions, new market tax credit (NMTC) financing, and state sales tax concerns. Clients value Daniel’s advice regarding business transactions, including his strategic counsel in regard to organizing and forming tax-exempt business entities, such as 501(c)(3) and other nonprofit organizations.

A certified public accountant (CPA), Daniel also advises clients on federal and multi-state income tax compliance, tax-exempt entity compliance, and insurance compliance matters, such as insurance company formation and regulation. Through his knowledge and partnership with Wisconsin insurance companies, Daniel has established a working relationship with the Wisconsin Office of the Commission of Insurance.


  • Consulted on tax implications pursuant to business sales and purchases 
  • Counseled tax-exempt entities throughout formation and operation, including reorganizations
  • Effectively represented lenders and borrowers in over 10 NMTC deals in Wisconsin and other states, and represented entities requesting property tax exemptions
  • Formed a limited health service organization (LHSO) to offer dental insurance to members. This was the first LHSO formed in Wisconsin in over 10 years.
