Chip draws on his extensive experience as an advocate for industries across Illinois and the United States, and as an advisor on state and national political election campaigns, to advise clients on issues relating to public policy, government relations, and fostering productive relationships with federal, state and local governments.

Prior to joining Michael Best Strategies, Chip served as campaign manager for Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner, overseeing 83 offices, more than 700 paid workers and more than 10,000 volunteers. He subsequently served as Senior Advisor on Governor Rauner’s Transition Committee.
In addition to managing Governor Rauner’s campaign, Chip has also advised several United States senators, including Florida Senator Marco Rubio and Kentucky Senator Rand Paul. In addition, Chip has a deep background in polling and modeling, using up-to-the-minute technologies to promote campaign and corporate interests. He has conducted polling surveys for former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and former New York Governor George Pataki. He has also worked in public affairs, helping companies navigate complex public relations and government relations issues.
