Charlene provides counsel to chemical, pharmaceutical, and life sciences sector clients regarding the full spectrum of patent issues. Widely recognized for her successes in patent prosecution, she also has extensive experience performing patentability and freedom-to-operate analyses.

Charlene regularly counsels technology transfer organizations in patent procurement, portfolio management and licensing.

  • Securing patent coverage for lead compounds presently in clinical trials for cancer therapy. Coverage included methods of use
  • Obtaining patent coverage for assay substrates and methods of use in biotechnological research across multiple jurisdictions
  • Assisting a pharmaceutical client with intellectual property issues regarding its initial public offering. The company’s IPO and additional financing rounds were successfully completed
