Overview

Caitlin helps clients protect and defend their intellectual property assets. She regularly assists in patent prosecution, responding to both United States and international office actions. Her focus is on the field of life sciences and chemical innovation.

Caitlin holds a Ph.D. in cellular and molecular pathology, which affords her a ready understanding of the workings of science-driven innovations – and an informed perspective on the challenges and opportunities facing her clients.

 

Prior to joining Michael Best, Caitlin conducted research in the lab of Dr. Robert Nickells in the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her thesis project focused on glaucoma and the role of the retinal immune response during the degeneration of retinal ganglion cells. She also worked as an associate research specialist at the AIDS Vaccine Research Lab at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
