Brian brings extensive experience in commercial real estate transactions, having successfully closed numerous deals involving the purchase and refinancing of various properties including office condominiums, shopping centers, hotels, retail spaces, residential properties, and industrial warehouses. With over 14 years of real estate experience, he is well-versed in crafting title opinions, issuing title insurance policies, and resolving intricate real estate title issues. Brian has a robust background in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial leases for both landlords and tenants.
As a business attorney, he has also advised many clients of all sizes in the dental, entertainment, hospitality, manufacturing, medical, restaurant, software, and solar industries regarding real estate and corporate matters, including forming business entities, reviewing letters of intent and contracts, regulatory compliance, acquisitions and sales, equity transfers, general legal advice, and offering guidance on starting and operating their businesses.
Before joining Michael Best, Brian served as a senior associate at the law firm of Bray & Long, PLLC, held senior positions with accounting firm Gorman & Associates, P.A., and served as general counsel for Boston National Settlement Services, headquartered in Charlotte. He began his legal career at a regional law firm, where he represented lenders in foreclosure and bankruptcy law.
