As a partner with Michael Best Strategies, Anne’s work involves providing strategic planning, policy advice, and representational services to major corporations on federal and state legislative and regulatory issues in the financial services industry, tax and trade, health care, infrastructure, and budget policy areas.
She also specializes in coalition and trade association building and management. She has built and managed a number of trade associations, coalitions, and working groups, including the Consumer Mortgage Coalition, the RxBenefits Coalition, and many others.
Anne is the former president of Canfield & Associates, Inc., a firm she formed in 1996. Her affiliated firm, Canfield Press, LLC, publishes specialized financial publications, including the GSE Report and the Disruption Report. The GSE Report, which has been published since 1996, focuses on trends in fiscal and monetary policy, and tracks the activities of the government-sponsored enterprises (GSEs). The Disruption Report focuses on the disrupting impact that technological innovations are having on various industry sectors.
Prior to forming Canfield & Associates, Inc., Anne was a principal in the firm of McClure, Gerard & Neuenschwander, Inc. (MGN). She joined MGN following ten years at GE/GE Capital. As a senior executive at GE/GE Capital, she developed and implemented corporate policy and legislative and regulatory strategies both domestically and abroad.
Before joining GE Capital, Anne gained over ten years of experience on Capitol Hill, working as a senior staff advisor for three members of the U.S. House of Representatives, and then as the senior advisor and Senate Finance Committee aide to a member of the Senate Finance Committee.
