Andy has more than 30 years of experience as a commercial litigator. He has taken over 200 trials to jury verdicts throughout North Carolina and across the U.S., and he has successfully represented clients in countless bench trials, including appeals before the North Carolina Court of Appeals, North Carolina Supreme Court, the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court.
In addition to his trial work, Andy also advises clients on other forms of risk management, including dispute resolution, litigation avoidance, and claim/case handling. As an experienced North Carolina Superior Court certified mediator, Andy is often sought out as an arbitrator as well. He has served as a mediator and arbitrator in over 1000 cases to date.
Andy began his legal career at the former Golding Meekins Law Firm in Charlotte, specializing in the defense of medical and other professional malpractice cases, along with a variety of other cases involving serious injury, death, or significant damages. He then joined three other attorneys in a boutique firm, Crews & Klein, and expanded his practice to include construction litigation and mediation. In 2003, Andy moved to the Charlotte branch of the McNair Law Firm as a litigator and shareholder. While at McNair, he built his practice across multiple areas of law, representing clients in disputes related to business and commercial entities, along with complicated injury or death disputes, construction, and insurance issues.
